What's Working?

Just when you think you have your trauma all wrapped up and organized, the complex strategies of parenting your own children stir up a host of triggers that ignite the orchestra of defenses.


Remember to go easy on yourself. If we were referring to an old sports injury, or an allergy that flares up, you would cut yourself some slack when confronted by the reminder. These historical wounds make a mark inside us and impact how we move through the world. Don’t let them blindside you.


You may see your own wounds through a new lens after becoming a parent. It is possible to get a grip on the past so that it doesn’t jack up your present, or future.

You can make sense of it all and move ahead with tools to be the mom, partner, and woman you always wanted to be.


Start by a daily check-in around what is actually working.

Take an inventory of the basics of what is providing you safety, security, nurturance, or love.


How do you determine when something is actually working for you?


Can you bring yourself to list 3 things that are working out for you, 3 things/people that you can count on?
